So Young!
1974

On May 4th, 2008, my dear husband and I celebrated 34 years of blissful marriage. It only seems like yesterday when we joined in this wonderful life. Now, 2 children and 3 grandchildren later, we look forward to 34 more years! Pray for our good health and for a prosperous future.

Prayers Needed

image

Please pray for our grandson, Cody. Because of a pharmacy error, he is in Pediatric ICU. They overdosed him. He is on a ventilator. He was given 1,000 X the prescribed dose!

Update:
Cody is off of the ventilator and breathing on his own. He still sleeps most of the time but he has his moments where he can stay awake for short periods of time.

5/16
Cody is expected to go home today! He is still not himself but he is MUCH better!

5/17
Cody is home! We are all trying to catch our breaths. As Jenn said, the medical stress is over - now, the mental begins.

Update:

Cody is back in ICU. Jenn called while they were taking him back to the hospital. Cody started throwing up yesterday while still in ICU. His ct-scan was normal so they proceeded with his discharge. Cody became ill again on the way home and he hasn't stopped throwing up since. Jenn said she was up most of the night with him and now, he can't even keep Ginger Ale down.

They are admitting him back to ICU. I am confident that is not a reflection of his "illness", rather, a prudent move since they know him so well. Most likely, he needs to be kept hydrated. I will update you when I have answers.

5/19

Cody is home! Thank you all for your prayers. Now, we get our minds ready for the law suit. Pray for easy sailing.

My Family and me

Hello to all my friends and future friends! I cannot wait to chat with you! My name is Fran. I turned 53 in April of '08. I never thought I would get this old! My dear (and I mean dear) husband and I have been married 34 years. We were blessed by God on that chilly morning and He has not taken His grace away in all of these fortunate years. Together, we have two grown children, both of whom are female. Our oldest, Jenn, has one son, Cody. Our youngest, Becca, has two girls. We have been abundantly blessed by God for giving us these angels. Not a day goes by that I do not appreciate our family. Family IS all important.

When you lose a loved one, this fact is drilled, painfully home. I have lost too many loved ones to not appreciate my family. My father is gone. He left this world 30 years ago. My mother passed away less than a month before 9/11 and my most beloved sister Mary, followed days after that. We lost our oldest brother Joe, 5 years prior to my mom and sister. I am now left with only 3 siblings. Treasure your family. They root you to your past, they make your present complete and they are to be valued in the future. Sometimes, the longing for my sister hurts with a vengeance. I loved her so.

~~~~~~
May the light of the Lord
Shine on your day.
And the peace of God,
Find you at night.
~Fran
A few of my favorite things
It is my hope that we get to know each other and in doing so, we will be able to share in each others joys.
I simply must place God on top of my favorite list. For without Him, I would be lost. With Him, my joys are enhanced and my sorrows are made lighter.
Coffee! I must have my coffee or I am not a happy camper. image
I am addicted to weight-lifting. I know, I know!
I guess you can call me a gym-rat. image After 35 years of smoking (3 packs a dayimage) I quit on March 27th, 2007. image If I'm not here, I am probably at the gym. image
Another favorite activity is message board posting and such. I think most of us have this in common!
I cannot get enough of Broadway (or local) productions. I am hooked. The last one I saw was Mamma Mia!
image
It was out of this world - great! My cousins flew in from California so they treated me on my birthday to a trip to New York where we took in the show and had a fabulous meal, later in the day. I was in heaven. (I still am!) Before Mamma Mia, I saw Les Mis in Philadelphia. I thoroughly enjoyed the traveling production, recently, with my sister, two daughters and my husband. I saw The Producers in NYC and it was marvelously funny.
My spaghetti sauce is one of my favorite foods as is chili. But since I've become a health nut, I am careful about what I eat.
We have a passion for historical sights. Right now, we are planning our third visit to Washington DC. We can't wait to go back!
Now that I've shared a few of my favorite things, why not share with me.
Until we meet again, may God bless you and all whom you hold dear.
Song Playing in the background:
To Where You Are
Preformed by: Josh Groban
Who can say for certain
Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear
Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You're still an inspiration
Can it be (? )
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above
Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are
Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn't faith believing
All power can't be seen
As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
'cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above
And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave
Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile
To know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are
I know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are
